Yup, just like Stuart O'Grady I am telling myself to Toughen the ---- up! But more importantly I am telling everyone who said they were going to go to the Sunday morning training Crit in Scarborough to TOUGHEN THE ---- UP!! Because all of you wimps who decided not to participate in a training crit at 9am on a Sunday morning when it was raining and 40 degrees outside it was canceled, and I was one of only 5 people who showed up.
After the bad news that the race was canceled because all of you are a bunch of wimps (actually I must say I almost stayed in bed where it was warm and dry and I actually dont really blame you) I drove back home to do a solo ride in the rain. It wasnt much fun at all. In fact it sucked! Saturday's solo ride in the 45 rain sucked too! wow what a wonderful weekend! The weather was suppose to be nice Saturday and so I didn't bring rain pants and enough warm gear up to Winthrop. End result, cold legs. Sunday the legs were heavy and very slow from yesterdays ride. I ended up not going to Bradbury, I figured the trail day would be canceled, not sure if it ever was. My afternoon was spent watching/napping to the National Geographic channel sipping a cup of coco and wrapped up in a blanket. It was nice to catch up on some sleep and relax for an afternoon. My body needed some rest. Sunday night I went to an awards banquet for Hattie. USM was recognizing all of its senior athletes. Hattie didn't get any special award, even though I think she is a much better person then some of the athletes who received the special awards. One girl who got a lot of awards was using cocaine while on the basketball team and got caught, she is also the campus drunk. Oh well, I guess the good will never really get the recognition that they really deserve and thats what makes them really good people because they dont need to be recognized by an award, they just are down to earth good people. My good friend Forest who is a 4 year senior on the XC, indoor and outdoor track teams should have received an award as well, but didn't. Oh well.. it was still nice to go the banquet. After the banquet Forest, his girlfriend Jess, Hattie and I went out for ice cream. It was a fun night. Hattie and I always like to hang out with Forest and Jess. Monday I was a gym teacher at Yarmouth. I also got sub dates for every day up through the 13th! Thats the most work I have had in years! Monday afternoon I had another job interview with a big company. The job didn't sound to exciting, but its a good company to work for, so if offered the job I would really have to think about it. My ride Monday evening was awesome!! Sunny 60-65 with a slight breeze!! I put in 2hours, and felt awesome! I was so happy it was finally sunny again! On the job note I am starting to get really fed up with people in HR. I have been trying to contact one company for weeks now. I call once to twice a week to talk to the HR reps to see where the job is at, make sure they got my application, let them know I am really interested and I haven't heard a word back from them!! How can they be that busy not to call back?? Plus i just found out a job I applied for was filled, Thanks for informing me! Geeze I swear companies these days do not care about potential employees or anyone who sends in a resume. How hard would it be to send out an email informing everyone who applied that the job has been filled? Or how hard would it be to take the filled job off your web site?? All problems I have encountered. Well anyways enough bitching for one post. If you have made it this far you probably are not as happy as you were before, sorry about it. I am going to go out for a bike ride now and enjoy the warm sunny day. I think I will hit up the gym this afternoon as well followed by some badly needed grocery shopping with Hattie. Enjoy your day, be thankful you have a job, and always ride and smile! |
