Wow, its like June here in Maine! Not a cloud in the sky, temps in the 60-low 70's. Perfect spring day.

On Thursday I had to sub for a full day with 2nd graders. It wasn't too bad, but it was A TON more work than high school, and for the same pay!! But with warm weather (50-low 60's) I was super pumped to get out for a nice ride. I was heading up towards Brusnwick when I met up with another cyclist. I noticed the Ironman logo tattooed onto his leg. We started talking. Turns out he was heading to a group ride from the shop in Burnswick. I figured what the heck I will join. Turns out its a pretty mild group ride, I was dropping the guys doing some tempo, but it was still a lot of fun to ride with some other folks.

Today (Friday 18) I got up early went to Shaws and cooked up a killer breakfast. French toast, strawberries, bannanas, yogurt, OJ, and Cyrious Java Bikeman Attack Blend coffee. All Hattie had to do was roll out of bed and breakfast was served! I know I am a good guy! After breakfast it was some computer work and then off to a job interview with L.L. Bean. Its for a seasonal retail job, which has a lot of ups, but a few downs. They pretty much require you to work weekends which doesn't really work with racing. Maybe I can work Sat and get Sun off, who knows. I still have to wait and see if I get offered a job.

After the interview I was back at the house by 1:00. I took off the shirt (Remember, Suns out Guns Out) put on some sun screen and did some yard work until 5. Raked the lawn, put up the close line, built a compost pile etc... The 497 is looking good if I must say. JD again stayed inside the entire time and failed to help out on this one. I dont know how someone can live indoors like that.

I did go see Mark McCormick talk at Gorham Bike and Ski tonight. He had a pretty interesting story to tell about his life as a racer. A lot of good stories about certain races and A TON of race winning jerseys! The plan is to hit up the PVC ride at 7:30am tomorrow morning and then hop on for the last half of the GBS ride with Mark McCormick. Should be a fun time and a long morning in the saddle! I think a mandatory nap is on the sched for tomorrow!
