Sorry its been a few days since I have last posted anything. The past couple of days have been pretty hectic.
So Thursday morning around 3:30am the house phone is ringing. I thought who the hell is calling? This is way to early for a substitute call in. Turns out my roommate JD had some heart failure of some type around midnight and had to take an ambulance to the ER up in Brunswick. JD works 3rd shift in the wearhouse at LL Bean and he was working there when it happened. JD needed a ride back to Freeport to get his car from work. So I got out of bed and drove up to the hospital in Brunswick at 3:30am. JD was saying his heart would stop beating for a few seconds and then start up again crazy fast. I guess he has a history of heart problems and had a surgery when he was in this teen years. He isn't suppose to drink caffeine, and claims he doesn't drink any at all. So I guess he must be buying other people Rock Star energy drink, and Vault, or he is just lying to us. I don't think his diet of buttered up Mac and Cheese, frozen pizza and McDonald's is helping out his heart. Nor is his inactive life style where here spends probably 30+hrs a week playing some video game. I dont know how someone could live like that, different strokes for different folks i guess. This def didn't help me out come 6:30am when I had to get up and go to work. Thankfully Thurs was only a 1/2 day at Yarmouth, so I was able to sneak in a nap after work. My original plan was to take a nap anyways, but instead of a get more sleep nap this was a catch up and pray its enough sleep nap. My ride Thurs started out really slow, but after 45min of riding I started to wake up and the next 2+ hours were great. Friday was another day of work at Greely high school. I was subbing for an english teacher. The lesson plans were pretty laid back and I was able to get a lot of reading done. I am reading "L.L. Bean; The Making of an American Icon" I started the book on Sunday the 23rd and I am almost done with it now. The book is a fast read and I am really enjoying the book. After subbing I decided to check out the Yarmouth Town Library. The place is pretty cool. I spent another hour or so reading my book there. I will have to pick up a membership next time I go there. Friday night was a chill night for me. I still needed to catch up on the missed sleep from Thursday morning. I stayed in and watched the movie Into the Wild. the movie was really good and I recommend it to everyone. After sleeping in Saturday morning I got into gear and picked up the downstairs of the house, did some organizing etc.. Around 1 I was out of the house for my ride. Todays weather, 30 and windy! whats up with all the wind lately? The wind was gusting 30+mph today! I road down to Phippsburgh today on rt 209. Today was a 4+hr ride with a lot of intervals. Hard day for sure! The legs were feeling great! I am happy with how I have been feeling lately. I probably wont be in winner shape come the April classic mtb races, but hopefully top 5 shape. I got my USAC license today, now its time to put it to use. I think tomorrow I will be up at the loaf! take care |
