Wow, Hattie pretty much dominated in this weekends meet. It was the State Championships Friday night, and she scored 38 points for USM! Thats about a quarter or more of the teams total points!

Hattie won the 55 sprint, (she set a new school record in this event!), won the 55 hurdle (new pr for herself, I think this is her 3 straight week where she has set a new pr in this event), won the 200m sprint, and took second in the long jump! I think with such a stellar performance she should (hopefully) will get the LEC (little east conference) athlete of the week. Last week Hattie was the USM Huskie Hero! I am so proud of her and its awesome to see her doing so well. This upcoming Saturday is the conference meet at USM. Hopefully I will be able to make it to the meet to see her compete. It will depend on the weather I guess. I need to do a long work out that day, but I think I  can squeeze in a hour or two break from my ride to see her compete in the 55 spring and 55 hurdle.

Start of the 55 Dash, notice how far out Hattie is from her competition!

I guess good starts help lead to good finishes.

Saturday night Hattie and I made the short drive up to Bowdoin to see the Mens State Champ meet. The USM mens team for the first time ever won the state title! Now USM has two state titles in track this year! Hopefully the school can pull it together and do the same for outdoor in the spring!

Saturday was a good work out. Burnsy and I got on the mtn bikes and road up to pineland, xc ski for a few hours, coffee and pastry after the ski and Foley's bakery, and then an hour or so bike ride home.

Yesterday Burnsy and I got the short end of the stick. In the am we shoveled the driveway in our T-Shirts. You know how it goes, 'Suns out Guns out!!' The two of us went to Hannaford around noon to pick up stuff for a chili we were going to cook that night. On our drive back it was maybe 45 and sunny. Great, we were going to be able to ride outside this afternoon. Made the chili and the crock pot was on low. As we opened the bulk head door from the basement it had started to snow! What??!! Just an hour ago we were out side and it was sunny, now its snowing. We we decided/thought the roads were warm enough that the snow would not accumulate, we were wrong! 15 min later the roads had 1/2 an inch of snow and we had to bail on our ride. I went to Bradbury and did some snow shoeing, nothing major.

Today the sun is out, but they are saying 20mph winds with gusts of 40mph! I think its only like 20degrees out with the wind chill. Most people would stay inside on a day like this, not me! Born and raised in Maine = tough and not so bright, so I am going to go out for a couple hour spin and see how it goes. Joy.
