Yesterdays subbing and todays 1/2 sub day have been really easy. Yesterday I pretty much read from my book, "The Omnivores Delima" Today I am monitoring a study hall. At least I have access to a computer today.
My plan for today was to do some more job searching if I didn't geet called into work. No phone calls at 6am, nice! So I thought I would do some touch up stuff to my resume, cruse the web looking for some possible jobs, and do some follow up stuff etc... Instead I recieved a phone call around 8:30 asking if I could come in at 10:45, No problem! Shortly after recieving the phone call Yarmouth called again asking if I could sub for gym in the middle school on Fri, of course I took the offer! The kids are hard working here at YHS, so my work is very minimal. So I spent 90 min or so crusing the web looking at some jobs. Saw an interesting one for a marketing firm in Portland that I will apply for. Hopefully I can find one by the end of the month. Finances are getting a little tight. I read an article in todays Portland Press Herold about oil companies not delievering oil for those who pre bought there oil. It got me thinking and wondering when the last time our oil company delivered oil??? I don't believe it will be a problem, we bought from a large and well respected oil company, but it has been a while since they have been to our house to top off the tank. Maybe they are not comming as often because we keep the heat in our house so low that we don't use much. When the heat is set at 58 you don't use nearly as much as those who keep there house at 74. Burnsy, Hattie and I are going to start up a compost pile. Hopefully we can build it up and start adding scraps to it in a week or two. Our goal is to get permission from CMP to build a small veg garden out in the sun on the right of way for the power lines. I think we should be able to do this. I haven't seen my other roomate eat a single veg since living here, so i doubt he will be part of it. I will keep you updated on how the garden progress is coming. sorry for any typos/ spelling erros etc. I am using a mac and it doesn't have the automatic spell check. |
