Thats the news from the USM gym at least. Turns out after you graduate you get the boot from using the gym. To bad USM isn't as nice as Kents Hill, where the hill allows its alumni to use its facility.
For about a solid month I have been able to use the gym at USM after graduating. The last time I was there I got busted and was told I have to fork over some $ before I can use it. If I had a job I could afford to go to the gym, but seeing how I am only going to be able to sub one day this week, I dont see myself buying a membership any time soon. I think they are kind of pricey anyways. Thinking about memberships and pricing stuff out, here is a quick list of things I need passes for; - USA Cycling racing license $150
- Sugarloaf season pass $300
- Maine State Park pass $30
- Pineland Farms nordic pass $70
- Plus there are a ton more I can't think of right now..
Thats a lot of money for just bike and ski related stuff. Those passes sure do add up fast. When you start putting entry fees on there that number gets to be a lot higher! Its bad when you win a race and your price money doesn't even cover your entry fee... So since I remembered last minute that I am not welcomed at the gym I decided to stay home and do some at home work out stuff. I feel pretty good. I should probably be doing more of this at home stuff. Its not like I don't really have the time now'a days. Tomorrow I am off to a job fair at UMO. The morning commute looks like it might be slick. The weather forecast is calling for some freezing rain in the am. I will make a pit stop in Augusta on the way up to get my car inspected. I think it might need some new brakes. The Saturn is running great, but I believe the brakes are original and I now have 95,000miles on it! On the way back from UMO I am picking up Maggie! Turns out my parents did one of those last minute travel deals and are going down to the FL Keys for a couple of days. So to save some $ I am going to take care of the dog instead of my mom sending her to the Bed and Breakfast for dogs! Yeah I know my mom treats that dog to well. It will be fun having a dog around the house for a couple of days. Well i gotta get going. I need to touch up my pathetic resume and get ready for tomorrow. |
