I recently have been robbed. The criminal the USPS | | The criminal |
This is what happened. I left my stick (www.thestick.com) at my grandparents over the holiday. So just after the first of the year they mailed it back to me. Almost three weeks later and still no package. The package was shipped priority mail from PA. The gramps have my correct address and such. I called my local post office to see if it was maybe kicking around in the back of the building or something and they told me I have to wait 30-60 days before filing a lost package claim! This stinks, going another 30 days with out my stick!! My legs are sore and I don't know how I am going to get by. On other good news the USPS did manage to get me a package from Oakley OK. In side it was a new pair of Spikes. | | My new glasses! |
These glasses are amazing! They are super comfortable and they look pretty bad ass. I wore them on the drive up to Sugarloaf the other day. I fell asleep with them on and didn't even notice it. A big thanks to Oakley for supporting me over the years! Yesterday was yet another good training day. I've been doing a lot of bike, ski, bike days lately which is what I did again on Thursday. Its a good way to log in a few hours of cardio and keep things fresh and interesting. Plus its always cool to have people come up to you at Pineland and ask "did you really bike here with your skis on your back?" They are so amazed and blown away by the fact someone would not just ride there bike in the winter, but ride there bike with skis strapped to a back pack! I usually give them a stupid answer like "I am just doing my part to save oil and prevent global warming" and then they feel all bad about driving there 50k Suburban. Its at this point when I become there hero. Today has been a pretty chill day. I went up to Bikeman.com today and picked up Burnsy's and my skis. Pete did an excellent job with the wax, grinding and P-tex on the skis. My skis were hurting pretty bad. I can't remember the last time they were waxed or sharpened. I know I will be flying for sure this weekend when I hit up the slopes. I have also been trying to fill out the financial aid stuff for Hattie. The forms are a pain, and I haven't even gotten to the hard part yet. I think on Monday I will have to spend a few hours on the phone with her parents getting previous tax information to correctly fill out the form. Hopefully this will save here a good amount of change next year. Speaking of Hattie she had an awesome track meet last week. The meet was an open meet at URI (univ of Rhode Island) where there were DI schools competing. Hattie pulled of a 2nd in the long jump and 5th in the hurdles!! I guess all that commuting on the bike this summer is paying off! She also had good enough results to qualify her for the east coast meat at the end of the season. It must be a big relief now not to have to worry about qualifying. She has another meet tomorrow down in Mass. I wont be able to go, but hopefully I can make it to her home meets. Thats it for today, enjoy your weekend. |
