Today was a great day at the Loaf, for both DH and XC.
Yesterday Yarmouth got over a foot of snow, but the storm was more of a coastal storm so the loaf only picked up 6 inches. Since it wasn't a huge storm I decided I should wait until 7pm or so before leaving the house. This would give the school plenty of time to call me for an 'emergency' sub. Thankfully no calls this morning. Burnsy and I were out of the house by 7:15. Burnsy drove, I slept. Stopped in Belgrade at the Lazy Lab Cafe, picked up some coffee. Next stop Farmington for some gas. At the loaf by 10am. The clouds never seemed to burn off and were lingering around in the Vally. this kept the temps cool and the light flat. But thats ok because the snow was great! Well at least on the major trails that are groomed on a regular basis. It was a great time just taking some long fast flowing runs for the day. I think our best run of the day was down Double Bitter which isn't groomed. The snow was soft and the cover was decent. After skiing for a couple of hours it was time to head over to the touring center for some Nordic Skiing. I swapped out the skis and hit up the trails. I wasn't able to ski for long, because I was pretty tired at that point and we were running out of day light. It was a good thing Burnsy drove because like a good passenger I slept for most of the way back. Tomorrow is a big interview day. I will post something about it tomorrow. Hopefully once I get a job and I can purchase a digital camera so I can have some more pictures on this web page. Words are kind of lame. Also check out the photo album. I have posted new photos and there are more on the way. Oh and good news!! Salsa has agreed to continue our relationship for another year!! Like the job interview I will post more about this later!
