I am one of those people who should be living in a bubble confined from the outside world. The list of things that I am allergic to is to long to list. When spring time rolls around and all the plants start to bloom is when my allergies kick in which triggers my asthma. It is too bad bike racing and Asthma dont mix.
the fat tire classic didn't go well at all. I felt good and the legs felt fresh coming off of a day or two of unexpected rest thanks to some spring time snow in Maine. First lap went alright, mid pack and feeling good. About 15 minutes into the race I could feel the lungs starting to get tight so I eased up a bit, took a puff from the inhailer and kept on going. By the time I made it through my first lap my lungs were on fire, I took several hits off of the inhailer and nothing was helping. Before I knew it I was standing on the side of the trail, unable to breathe and sucking on my inhailer. Time to call it quits. After a few minutes my lungs opened up and I was somewhat O.K. I walked over to the officials with my tail between my legs to inform them of my DNF status. Thats about that. In other news it is spring time and that means new bike parts. I have a lot of work to do on the road bike and even more to do on the mtn bike. It shouldn't be long before the mtn bike shows up!
