Last night was my big chauffeuring debut

My old coach and mentor, Beau Lambert, hired me to chauffeur for the night. The occasion was his parents in law's 40th anniversary. My job was to find a 12 or 15 passenger van, pick up Beau and his wife Meg, then pick up meg's parents, followed by her brothers etc.. Then all I had to do was drive the party out to dinner followed by safely driving them home. Not a bad gig at all. Even though it was a lot of waiting in the van I had a great time. Even after 40 years of marriage the couple seemed as happy as they were when they first met. I wasn't even around 40 years ago to know them but you know what I mean, they were very happy.

So yesterday was a wicked long day, work 6am-noon then drive up to Lewiston to pick up the van, drive South to York for the chauffeur gig, by the time I got back to the house it was after midnight. My plan was to wake up early this morning and head over to Manchester, NH for the Trek/Fisher demo day. When my alarm clock went off I couldn't get up. See I've been fighting this minor head cold for the past few days and by going over to Manchester for the morning would make it worse. the next few days are jammed pack and then I am off on a hunting  trip for a few days. I really don't want to be sick for the hunting trip so I need to get all the rest I can now. I feel really bad missing the demo day but I think in the long run it was a good call.
