First my chain was jumping around on the crank, I figured it was just something with the front derailer. I dropped it down into the little ring then back into the big ring. At this point I was still in the pack but guys were making comments like "that doesn't sound good" I wasn't too worried as my bike tends to make a lot of noise, as it should since it is almost five years old and has been through more abuse then most bikes ever see. About a minute after the first set of clunker noise sounds my bike was making it went from not good to very bad. The chain was ghost shifting all over the place and the chain was skipping like crazy. I could barely put any power into the pedals with out the bike making some sort of metal grinding noise. It was at this point I had to call it quits. Pulling off to the side of the road while the rest of the pack hammers on up Depot Hill was somewhat depressing. All I could do was spin home at a very slow rate, even then the bike wasn't working well at all. Turns out my chain popped, and is on the verge of snapping! Somehow I was able to make it from Gray back home on a busted pin! Not sure how I pulled it off but I did and I am glad I stopped when I did. Had I tried to hammer up Depot Hill I am sure the chain would have snapped and then I would have been in real big trouble. A new bike is in the works for this winter. I am debating on the 2010 Trek Madone 4.7 or getting one of the new Fisher Cronos with Ultegra. If I get the Fisher Burns will buy me a Rival group and take the Ultegra from me which doesn't sound like such a bad idea. 

Besides that not much happening this week. I am just logging in the hours at the S-bux. The opening today wasn't so bad, my morning coffee held me over until 1:00 which is when I made it back to the house. A nap was necessary at this point and was it a great nap! Tomorrow I have to be back at work early, 5:30am early. Oh well i guess there could be worse things out there.
