Many cities have many different ways to bring in the New Year. Portland has the bars and thats it. A few years ago I went to Porltand's celebrations, but when I arrived at 10pm to find out I was a few hours late. Portland is lame.
I was very lucky this year for Christmas. This year Hattie decided to get us tickets to Bob Marley's New Years Eve show! (www.bmarley.com). rewind to the morning. I had to shovel about 8 inches of snow off the driveway so I could take Hattie to school. Then It was down to Scarbrough to meet with an insurance agent. The guy was 30 min late because he had to snow blow his driveway. Me on the other hand got up 30 min early so I wouldn't be late. What a punk. Bought a health insurance plan for $201 a month. Living in Maine is a bitch thanks to our guarenteed health insurance law. After the meeting it was off to Sams Club to pick up some grub, take Hattie from school to work, then back home. I had some time to get some stuff done around the house and then it was time to pick Hattie up from work and time to start our New Years date. We went out for dinner to Dimillo's floating restaurant for some good sea food. It was great to eat some good food and spend time with Hattie. After dinner we had some time to kill so we chilled at a coffee shop for a bit. All I can say about Bob Marley is that i haven't laughed that hard in a long time! My stomach hurts today. The guy is hilarious. The only good thing about living in Maine is being able to make fun of it. There is a lot of stuff to make fun and Bob only touched on a little bit of it, but it was great. Overall it was a great night and I am glad I was able to spend it with Hattie again. New Years morning was spent in great fashion. Up early, bike to Pineland with my xc ski on my back, ski and bike back all before storm #2 hits us. I made it back to the house just in time as it started to snow. This storm is suppose to drop a foot! Shoveling the driveway is going to suck, and shoveling the roof is going to suck even more. But on the good note Sugarloaf is going to kick ass tomorrow!! I hope everyone else had a wonderful and safe new years. |
