Just a quick update on how the World Cup is going.
First of we made it up into Quebec without any problems. The border crossing went smooth and the traffic wasn’t too bad in Quebec City. Once we arrived and checked into the condo I went out for a quick spin and checked out parts of the course. Today I was able to get out and put in a few laps on the course. I wanted to take it easy but that is impossible on this course! If you are not gunning it all the time then you are not going to be able to ride it. This is by far the most technical race I have done all year. The course has been changed and improved a lot since the last time I was here in 07. There are some crazy steep shoots that you have to just let go of the brakes and let it roll at some high speeds! The weather looks like its going to be very wet the next few days. I hope it is cold and rainy on race day. It’s not that I really excel when it rains, it is more like 80% of the field is so grumpy that they have to race in the rain that they end up not performing well. Personally I try to take advantage of numbers like those and get as fired up as possible. Maybe that is why I have had some of my best results when it has been raining. Well that’s it for now, more to come tomorrow, maybe some pictures? |
